I like to run, so I guess you could call me a runner. I also love books, so I would describe myself as a big reader or a book worm. I also like to listen to podcasts so what am I? I am a podcast listener! But what is a podcast? Well, the term podcast was originally derived from ‘ipod’ and ‘broadcasting’ and was added to the New Oxford American Dictionary in 2005. They are great for listening to recorded radio programmes or even learning English (http://www.eslpod.com/website/index_new.html). Check this  out!

2010年1月27日「モバイル英語学習」第21号(エッセイ): English Language Education

********************
Many adults in Japan complain that learning a language is too difficult because of their lack of success while learning a language at junior and senior high school. I wonder if Japanese should start learning languages earlier like many other countries throughout Asia. For example in Taiwan, South Korea and the Philippines, English language education starts much sooner than Japan. Even in a poor developing country like the Philippines you can meet many English speakers who did not spend thousands of dollars on after school classes but can speak English much more confidently. Maybe Japan has got it wrong and everyone should start learning languages at a younger age. (by Prof. Wendy Tada)
