Glastonbury Festival is the world’s largest outdoor music festival. It is held on a farm in the southwest of England, and this year it went from June 26 to June 30. 135,000 tickets were sold, and music lovers camped on the farm for five days. They had a choice of different kinds of music on many different stages. The festival has had big names like the Rolling Stones, David Bowie and Lady Gaga since it began in 1970. This year, some big names were The Killers, Kylie Minogue, and Janet Jackson. There was also one Japanese band. Can you guess who it was? It was Babymetal. (by Prof. Douglas Jarrell)

Kampala is full of motorcycles. Uganda doesn’t have public transportation, so most people use motorcycles called “boda boda” as taxis. You can see one, two, or even three people sitting behind the driver. The traffic is bad, but boda boda go between the cars. There are also small vans like buses. People signal to the van they want to take and it stops for them. In the countryside, there are always people walking along the main road. Children walk to school. Adults go shopping or collect wood and water. People with bicycles push them and carry heavy things on the back rack. (by Prof. Douglas Jarrell)
