2020年5月5日「モバイル英語学習」第653 号 (英語のエッセイ): It Won’t Kill My Spirit

——————————-
I am going to study in the UK this September. I have saved money for 5 years and got my boss’s permission to go to graduate school. Last October I finally passed the entrance examination, and everything seemed to be going well. Then COVID-19 spread throughout the world. It might prevent me from going. I am trying to be positive even though Japanese cannot get a visa to the UK right now. If I cannot go this year, the UK will still be there, and I am sure I will have another chance to visit the country someday. The coronavirus has killed many people, but it won’t kill my spirit. Notes
tuna melt 料理の名前、北米で人気

———————————–
Because many people are staying at home every day, they are doing more cooking. For some people, cooking at home is no problem, but life can be difficult for people who don’t usually cook. Don’t worry if you don’t know how to cook. You can find a lot of cooking videos on YouTube. One of these videos was in the American news last week. A politician from Virginia showed how he made a tuna melt, a very popular sandwich in the U.S. He said that it tasted great, but people thought that he was a terrible cook. If you use YouTube, learn to cook from a real chef, not a politician. (by Prof. Douglas Jarrell)
