I was riding my motor scooter the other day, and I stopped at a red light. I saw a man walking along looking at something in his hand. I was expecting to see a cell phone, but when I looked more closely at his hands, I saw that he was reading a book. He was turning the pages as he was walking. It must have been a good book because he didn’t look up. Luckily, he was on a wide sidewalk, and there weren’t many cyclists or pedestrians (people who are walking). Even so, I don’t think it’s a good idea to read while you are walking. (by Prof. Douglas Jarrell)

Have you ever looked at the Sunday newspaper and thought that there was less news than on the other days of the week? I sometimes feel that way. The headlines on the front page seem smaller, and the news seems less important. Maybe there are fewer news reporters working on the weekend. Or maybe people are thinking about religion and don’t do anything bad. After all, in Islam people go to the mosque on Fridays, Jewish people go to their temples on Saturday, and Christians go to church on Sunday. (by Prof. Douglas Jarrell)
