Every year, Collins Dictionary chooses “The Collins Word of the Year” from a short list of ten words This year’s word is “single-use.” It means something that we use only once. For example, we usually only use plastic shopping bags once. Then they become garbage. In order to be more eco-friendly, we should try not to make garbage. Instead, we should carry things such as cloth shopping bags that we can use again and again. I learned a new word from the Collins list: “plogging.” Joggers help the environment by picking up garbage when they go running. (by Prof. Douglas Jarrell)
