In the 1880s, an American engineer named Schuyler Skaats Wheeler invented the first electric fan. It was small, but it gave people moving air, which felt refreshing.
Later, in 1913, Frederick William Wolf Jr. created one of the first home refrigerators. With this, families could keep food cold even in summer.
In 1902, Willis Haviland Carrier designed the first modern air conditioner to control temperature and humidity. At first it was used in factories, but soon it spread to theaters, offices, and homes.
Summer is also the season of ice cream. The idea of frozen desserts is very old, with early versions in China more than 2,000 years ago. In 1851, Jacob Fussell opened the first ice cream factory in America, making it a treat for everyone.
暑い夏の日にぴったりの発明

夏といえばアイスクリームの季節でもあります。氷菓のアイデアはとても古く、2000年以上前の中国にもありました。1851年には、アメリカで ジェイコブ・ファッセル が最初のアイスクリーム工場を開き、誰でも楽しめるお菓子になりました
