More movie tickets were sold in Korea than in Japan last year even though Japan has 2.5 times the population of Korea. I asked my Korean teacher why so many people go to the movies, and she said that the movie tickets there are much cheaper and the movie theaters are open longer. Then she asked me about the U.S. She wanted to know if Americans ate and drank anything else besides popcorn and soft drinks. I told her that a lot of people eat candy, too. She said that Korea was different. Many Koreans eat dried squid at the movie theaters. (by Prof. Douglas Jarrell)

2014年2月7日「モバイル英語学習」第226号(エッセイ ): Part Time Job

**********************
What do you think about high-school students or college students having a part time job? I think that is a very good chance for students to grow up and communicate with others. I think it’s very important for high-school students to learn how hard it is to be an adult. Actually, I made so many friends when I started my part time job. I didn’t earn much money, but I enjoyed it and learned a lot. (written by student Miss Quyet Nuyen, edited by Prof. Douglas Jarrell)
