The World Beard and Moustache competition has just been held in a small town in Germany. Men with the longest, biggest and most unique facial hair compete for prizes. Not surprisingly, most of the competitors are from Europe or North America. Asians and Africans usually don’t have much facial hair. This year the team from America, called Beard Team U.S.A., did very well. They got 6 first-place wins. You can google the name of the competition to see the many different beards and moustaches. A few fans waited outside for days, and there were long lines in front of stores around the world in Tokyo, New York, and London. Then, on September 20, the new iPhone 5c and 5s went on sale. Some customers were disappointed because there weren’t enough phones. They will have to wait for days or even a few weeks to get the one they want. Fans who cannot wait can go to online auctions, but those phones are really expensive. One seller wanted over 200,000 yen for a gold iPhone 5s! I wonder if anyone will buy it at that price.
