According to a BBC news article “people who exercise regularly are less likely to get a cold” (BBC News, 2 Nov. 2010). The article concerns a study conducted in America. The study examined 1,000 volunteers, over a three-month period, asking them to report how frequently that they exercised for over 20 minutes with enough intensity to break a sweat. The findings showed that those who were physically active on five or more days of the week were unwell with a cold for about five days compared to nine days for those who did little or no exercise. Do you want a job in the future that doesn’t have too much stress? According to Money Magazine and PayScale.com, in the United States, the 10 jobs with the least stress are biomedical engineer, transportation engineer, statistician, Web developer, geographic information systems analyst, technical writer, test software development engineer, marketing consultant, civil engineer, and optometrist. Notice anything similar? Almost all of the jobs require more than just basic computer skills, and most require math and statistical abilities. So, if you love math, you may (or may not) have a less stressful future ahead of you than your friend who loves literature. (by Prof. Carmella Lieske)
