Robot vacuum cleaners have become very popular these days. The first ones came out in 2002, and more than 10 million have been sold. These vacuum cleaners move around the house cleaning the floor. Robot vacuum cleaners can be very helpful, but they can be dangerous, too. A 52-year-old woman in South Korea was sleeping on the floor, and the vacuum cleaner tried to suck up her hair. She woke up and called the fire department. They came and saved her. Luckily, she wasn’t hurt, but the message is clear: if you use a robot vacuum cleaner, don’t sleep on the floor! I always think “I wish I was more beautiful,” but I have decided to never have cosmetic surgery. The other day, one of my friends told to me, “I have a complex too. If you think that you are not beautiful, your face won’t look good. But if you think that you are beautiful, you will be beautiful now. So, let’s think positively!” I was happy to hear that. A large number of people have a complex. Whether you have cosmetic surgery or not depends on your own decision. I want to take good care of my original self, and I want to have confidence. I think that I should start with positive thinking. (written by student Miss K, edited by Prof. Douglas Jarrell)
