The other day, I went to karaoke with a friend. I like singing, but I was nervous because I’m poor at singing, and I can’t sing high-pitched melodies.
When we arrived at the karaoke box, I was still nervous. Then, my friend said to me,”Today is just for practice. I won’t laugh at your singing. I’m poor at singing, too. Please don’t worry and just relax.” I was happy to hear that. I realized that I had a good friend. After hearing her say that, I was able to enjoy singing. I want to be a kind person like her. 2014年6月22日「モバイル英語学習」第250号(エッセイ ): Good Japanese Fans

Soccer fans don’t always have a good reputation. They are often loud. Some of them get angry and get into fights, especially after their team loses. They are messy and leave a lot of trash on the seats. The Japanese fans in Brazil were different. Even though their team had lost, the Samurai Blue fans calmly cleaned up their seats in the stadium. This was so surprising to Brazilians and other fans that someone took a picture of them cleaning and put it up on Twitter. These fans certainly are good ambassadors for their country.
